Cherokee High School is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). Teachers have developed curriculum guides for the End Of Course (EOC) disciplines. All classrooms incorporate high speed internet, wireless internet, and interactive SMARTBoards to enhance the 21st century skills being taught and modeled in all areas.

Cherokee High School empowers students by offering Project Based Learning (PBL), dual enrollment college courses and North Carolina Virtual Public School (NCVPS) courses. The high school utilizes a 1:1 computer ratio in most core curriculum classrooms. Students are required to complete a North Carolina Future Core Requirements for Graduation as well as a graduation project. Students are offered financial literacy courses and several options for extra-curricular activities.

Cherokee culture is integrated in all curriculum areas. Students are offered courses in traditional basket weaving, beading, and wood carving. Our cultural staff has developed Cherokee language and history standards. Staff and students are encouraged to join the traditional singers and dancers club. Each year there is a Cultural Heritage week and a special ceremony that honors Cherokee elders.
