hello to Cherokee High School class of 2024 we welcome you all that students and their parents and Guardians to CHS we are excited you will be joining us for the next four years on your journey as lady Braves in braids information with you since you're a brand new high school student please know we hate you are beginning your high school career in a remote learning environment they keeping you healthy and safe as a major priority we are working diligently to ensure provide you with robust rigorous and relevant learning opportunities PHS is a one-to-one school which means each of our students is assigned a laptop to use for educational purposes during the school year more information regarding laptop pick up when we are closer to the start of school however in order to be issued a laptop all students must submit a new enrollment packet and roll are available on the school website I'll tell you where to find them later in the video and we will be announcing days and time for packet pick-up and drop-off at the school I know you and your parents have many questions and we will make every effort to answer them all I will be sharing content information at the end of the video so you will know how to reach him the rest of this video is designed to walk you through class registration we are currently preparing class schedules for the school year and we would like to share information regarding student schedules and elective North Carolina Department of Public Instruction sets the graduation requirements for a high school diploma for taking and excelling in specific classes are required to receive a diploma for 9th grade the required courses are generally English 1 math 1 world history health and PE and a science class which maybe Earth and environmental science physical science or biology generally because if you have already taken English 1 math 1 and or Earth and environmental science students are able to choose their elective courses though and that's what the focus is of the Google form we are sharing with you and your parents keep in mind the elective courses you choose should be selected based on both your personal interest and your future career plans it is important to remember that while these courses are your choice it is equally important to remember that some of our life of course is still up very quickly to complete and submit this form as soon as possible what star going to look at my C in Roman packet and the course selection form from your web browser Tycoon DCS a-10c. Org in the address bar in some browsers you may need to type the www.ccs.com C. Org when you get to the school's web page if you scroll down you'll find the enrollment packet the 2020-2021 CHS student enrollment packet and you can print it from there fill it out and bring it when we High enrollment packet drop off but also from this webpage this website school and then scroll down to Cherokee High School once you get to the Cherokee High School page rollover to students and go down to the course selection forms what's your the course selection form you'll see the Ninth Grade Center what grade course selection form if you click on the 9th grade course selection form it will take you to the Google form it's still once you're here you're going to be able to fill out and submit your form you'll see that all of the question that we've included are required question to the place for your name the community in which you live your future plans after high school and then it takes you to just a series of questions that are really important for us as we prepare your schedules if you're interested in finding out more about a particular course you're not sure what the course is what it is there's a link here to our curriculum guide if you click on the link it will take you to the Cherokee High School 2021 curriculum guide freaking that has a lot of great information in it from your course selection to what credits you need to to be a 10th grader or an 11th grader As you move to high school it has a lot of really good information and it information about GPS what that means to you as a student but it also has a course description for every single course that we offer if you have any further questions email our guidance office at Debbie.
