I am using the summary statement sentence frame today for one of the "blasts" in study sync. Here is how I'm using the blanks.
 
Title
PIE
main idea
informational text structure
 
For now, I'm going to teach them to pick one of the following for the last blank. These are study sync's 4 informational text structures.
 
*compare and contrast
*problem and solution
*sequential
*cause and effect
 
So they will write "by using compare and contrast text structure. If we get to the next level, we could have them say "by comparing the different opinions about who Shakespeare really was" or something more applicable to the text.
